The SSALTW series explores many stories and sagas. In the book, we uncover what would happen if the school had more resources and students, radically changing the narrative. However, in this document, we stay closer to the original story and explore "what if" scenarios for key situations in the series. 1. What If Summer Ran for President the Next Year?
a. Scenario Overview
SSALTW ends with Geneva, in a stunning election, becoming POGUS, succeeding the incumbent Allison, with Allison becoming VPOGUS. At this point, GCAM is essentially a non-entity. If SSA had a major presence at Glory High, the geopolitical map of the "five nations" (9GB, GCAM, jVn, SSA, 12th grade + Allison, Molly, and Val) would have been updated to include SSA and jVn, with the new 12th grade mostly merged into jVn, led by Allison and Molly, and remnants of GCAM remaining.
b. Analysis
For this scenario, we assume Allison runs against Summer, with Geneva backing Summer. Unfortunately, Summer’s popularity has been declining since her entry into the series, causing her campaign to falter. Geneva’s win in the original story was bolstered by new students who were unfamiliar with the candidates, and they might have pushed her over the top. However, Summer lacks the credentials Geneva had (former VP status, GNN co-host, prom planning), so SSA predicts an Allison landslide victory.
2. What If GCAM Competently Fought jVn, Relying on SSA Intel and Backing?
a. Scenario Overview
A main plot point in the SSALTW series is SSA’s attempt to get GCAM to collaborate against jVn. SSA would benefit from friendship and close collaboration with GCAM’s intelligence (stopping terror campaigns from Molly, uncovering Allison’s plans, etc.), while GCAM would secure a victory and the ability to rule the school for years to come (provided former Secretary of State Ava doesn’t leave), leading to a total GCAM victory.
b. Analysis
If GCAM had relied on SSA’s intelligence on or before November 17th, they would have known what was coming, saving significant time spent investigating. Had GCAM integrated SSA into their group chats and collaborated on GNN, much could have happened. First, SSA could have provided strategy tips to achieve the "objective" (which SSA would also have known). SSA could have shared intel on jVn’s activities, promoted Geneva and Clarissa more aggressively (with their cooperation), and likely ended the war in a few days with GCAM emerging with higher popularity. For example, SSA could have encouraged integrating GCAM into the school culture to reduce their isolationism by January, when the war ends. Sending Ava to 9th grade, Maria to 10th, etc., could have helped GCAM "win" the swing grades, making them more popular when peace is achieved. The pieces were there, but communication and intelligence-sharing were lacking.
3. What If SSA Allied with jVn?
a. Scenario Overview
Other than the brief one-day SSA-GCAM war and the SSA-GCAM bugging incident, SSA and GCAM were close allies. However, SSA still "allied" with jVn. What if SSA had fully taken jVn’s side? Before GCAM’s formation, SSA had the GAM plan shortly after the 2023 election, which would have united then-Secretary of State Ava, Maria, VP Geneva, and SSA into a single "unit" or party in StuGov. They were seen as SSA allies in the Glory High congress against Allison’s team of Molly and Vera. Aligning with jVn would require scrapping this plan, with SSA aligning with POGUS Allison earlier than the second semester.
b. Analysis
"Project 2024" would likely still have occurred, but SSA would have allowed Molly to slide while targeting Valerie. Assuming the same level of collaboration as with GCAM, not much changes, though GCAM information might leak throughout the war. Vera and Allison become the new "faces" of GNN, while GCAM engages in proxy wars with SSA. SSA pushes for neutral jVn members, Jayla and Nadelie, to integrate into 9th grade, strengthening ties but potentially sparking a "crush war" earlier (January/February instead of April) targeting 9th grade rather than SSA itself. GCAM further recedes into isolationism, and jVn, instead of stalemating as GCAM slowly collapses, wins the conflict, potentially affecting the 2024 election.
4. What If SSA Invaded GCAM via Summer?
a. Scenario Overview
Summer’s influence rapidly declined after joining GCAM-S. What if she teamed up with SSA to "invade" GCAM?
b. Analysis
Tighter SSA-Summer integration could have led to a faster war, with Damien’s "Great Chase" occurring in January, potentially sparking Crush War 3 with 9th grade. However, the veracity of the intel would have been suspect, as seen in SSA’s Watergate incident, where Maria and Summer knowingly passed fake information to SSA HQ.
